Cleansing Waters Ministry - Cleansing Shower Ministry seeks to restore the dignity of our displaced brothers and sisters by offering them a safe and loving place to receive a shower. The ministry operates every Friday from 9-12pm. Volunteers are needed and welcomed. Also, you can assist us in making a different in the lives of our displaced sisters and brothers by donating toiletries, socks and clean clothes. Donations are accepted M-F between 9am-2pm. For more information call 704.376.8014.
Sister to Sister - Displaced women in our community have very different needs than do the men living on the streets and in our shelters. To support this effort, we are asking that you purchase toiletry bag(s) and fill them with feminine wipes, tampons, pads and a note of encouragement from one woman to another. A collection box for the toiletry bags is located our library. If you would prefer, you may make a financial donation and we will purchase toiletry bags and supplies and fill them for you. Donations may be made in two ways: You write a check to First United Presbyterian Church with a notation that it is for Sister to Sister or via the "Give Now" button.
Remember, this is an on-going ministry so your continued donation of feminine hygiene products, cosmetic/nylon backpacks or cash are always needed. For those who would like to help by writing inspirational notecards, packets of notecards with instructions can be found on the table in the library beside the Sister to Sister donation box. Thank you in advance for support of this ministry on behalf of displaced women in our community.
